I have to start by saying I had other 1st generation night vision devices, these digital devices have a lot of potential and I was very excited about them. The IR illuminator works great. Very bright, I'm impressed! Wide range of sizes. Night vision works really well, but there are other issues. The screen focus is not set on your eyes, so some people cannot focus on the screen. The screen has a very low resolution. 320 x 200. This was the most disappointing part. That means anything beyond about 20 feet looks like a pixelated blob. The digital zoom makes it a little better and bigger. I can't believe they did that in 2021. 320x200?! The eyecup hits you square on the bridge of the nose every time, and that's tough. The battery life with the new energy drink set was 15 minutes! The bright color screen ruins your night vision. There is no red or green filter over the screen. 10 years ago I bought my daughter an "Okular" toy night vision goggle that worked just like these except it had a red and green screen mode. The same 320x200 screen. I really wanted to like them, I loved them but unfortunately I decided to return them within 15 minutes. I decided that a red flashlight would be the best option.
