They are microwave safe. When I received them I filled them 3/4 full with tap water. I heated it in the microwave on high power and quickly brought the water to a boil. I let it cook for 5 minutes. I emptied it and refilled it 3/4 full with tap water and slowly brought it to a boil like soup. I let it cook for 5 minutes. I emptied it and filled it 3/4 full with chicken noodle soup and slowly started to lose weight. All of this was in the same bowl, and she wasn't disappointed. I've used them to reheat and microwave soups, stews, and gravies ever since, and none of them have broken or come loose at the seams. The reason I wrote this review is because some potential buyers are turning them down based on comments I see saying they are not safe to use in the microwave. These comments are not true.
