A simple medium sized bedside alarm clock has worked well so far. The alarm is quite loud, the clock has several (4) brightness levels. It's just a little awkward to set an alarm and even more awkward to use the radio. For some reason the manufacturer has decided to prioritize the presets of your FM radio and it is difficult for you to find the station manually. or, sometimes more important for some people, finding a good spot between stations with a nice white noise style sound. The watch must be connected to the network to work. Ours was once unplugged for a couple of hours and when we plugged it back in it was still showing the correct time, so it has some sort of internal battery, which is nice.
