acrylic sheet was with protective paper on both sides. I used this to cut out a new control panel bezel for m hot tubs. I upgraded the motherboard, heater and control panel in my old hot tub, but the new control panel was smaller than the old one. I used my X-Carve CNC to cut this acrylic sheet into a faceplate the size of my old panel but with a rectangle in the middle to hold the new panel. I painted the back with gray acrylic paint so the hot tub wasn't showing and installed a new control panel. I used clear silicone sealant between the new frame and the hot tub and sealant between the new control panel and acrylic. It worked great! If you are looking for acrylic for hobbyist CNC cutting, this will work great! Use an acrylic chip cutter and you won't have a problem. I didn't notice the melting of the acrylic!
