Review on 🎨 Mabef Backpacker Easel (MBM-23) in Tan: Versatile and Portable Art Companion by Sasha Hsiao

Revainrating 5 out of 5

CELEBRATION. Along with fakes, this is the gold standard.

Got mine today. It happened to come while I was remodeling (repairing) a half easel for a friend. A friend had a different model. So two easels - Mabef and Fake - stood next to each other in my studio. I modified the fake with a magnet so the hind leg doesn't fall out with every lift NO comparison: - Mabef has a lid over the drawer. The fake uses a folding pallet as a case. (You hold the palette over the drawer whether you like it or not. Otherwise all your stuff will fall on the floor.) Mabef has a lid. Mabef fittings are RELIABLE. The wing nuts on the legs are huge. The rear leg of the Mabef is fixed and stays attached. - Mabef leather shoulder straps. A bit small though. the visuals are fun - Mabef wood has a smooth, hard, kiln-dried finish and visuals - The Mabef rear leg adjustment nut does not _cut_ into the storage compartment floor. A fake turns the nut. The nut's wings are pressed into the bottom of the storage compartment. The Mabef tin tray has much more elaborate dividers than the fake one.
