First use positive. Helped me choose the right club for a 145 yard approach shot I fired from 8 feet. My model was silver and black, as in the photo. Easy to use after understanding the instructions. The eyepiece does not soil the glass and the optics are very good. Getting the flag is easy even with shaky hands (I walk and carry so my hands shake when I get the ball). Can provide consistent yardage/slope results across multiple re-fire tests. The soft case has a magnetic closure, which I wasn't aware of, but I appreciate the easy access to the device. Cons: 1) The ON/OFF DIP switch moves when the device is placed/pulled out of the case. You must check that the tilt function is in the correct position each time you use it. 2) Modes seem to jump between uses, but that could also be operator error. It's easy enough to spot the change by looking at what MODE it's in and changing it.
