Review on 🔍 Mann Filter C33001 Air Filter Element by Mark Saric

The Mann filter is an exact replacement for the original BMW filter for my 2102 X5 diesel engine. Mann makes the OEM BMW filter, the only difference is that the BMW OEM filter has a small "BMW" logo and the old BMW part number (1371 7 798 342) along with the Mann filter - Part number - C 33 001 and the Mann filter only has Mann stock number C 33 001. Both filters are made in Mexico, probably in the same factory. BMW is notorious for renting out all sorts of accessories, including this filter. It took me less than ten minutes to change the filter but I'm picky and I clean and vacuum all the covers inside and out. My abdomen is clean. To replace the air filter, gently pull the plastic top engine/speaker cover (the one that the oil filler tube goes through) up and then forward. Underneath this cover is an air filter cover with 5 or 6 metal latches that need to be unfastened. Using a T25 torx wrench, loosen the two torx screws on the air intake pipe on the left side of the filter box and the filter cover will immediately come off. Remove the old filter, vacuum the air intake box, put a new filter, be sure to squeeze it around the entire perimeter. Insert the air cleaner cover into the rear bracket slots, slide back and down, making sure everything snaps flush into place. Install all latches in place. Replace the air intake tube with two torx screws. Then slide the engine/acoustic cover into the rear pillars on the back of the air box and press down from the top and you are done.
