Review on Proto J6008C Ratcheting Micrometer 16 80 Feet by Jonathan Lloyd

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Calibrated and to spec

After buying a cheap Lexivon torque wrench which I returned I settled on this proto. Granted, the Proto is four times more expensive, but considering it meets the manufacturer's specs (I tested it) compared to the Lexivon, which was 8 pounds more at 30 ft. lbs and 10 ft. lbs. 20 not even clicked pounds load. It's worth it just for the mind. This is definitely the case when you get what you pay for. Just so you know, the wrench comes in a newer gray case with opening bars. When asked about this wrench released in 2015, one person said it came with a case, while another person said it didn't. Well, mine came with a suitcase in 2022! I also added these little black foam blocks to the inside of the top case to keep the key from rattling. The case does not come with these blocks. I am very happy with the purchase and am confident that the wrench will be tightened to the levels I require. The wrench works smoothly, locks into place in any setting and looks well made. I should have just gone that route in the beginning without even trying to save some money!
