I've tried various USB-C to Mini DP to connect my 2018 working Macbook Pro to an old Apple Mini DP Cinema Display but to no avail . I took a chance with this USBCele connector and it worked and works very well for connecting my work laptop to an extended display. This connection has been a blessing in the COVID home office era - it definitely saved my eyes! If they made the wire connector part out of a nylon braid it would be amazing considering the price and short length it's not a deal breaker. Do this if you have an old Apple Cinema Display (with original Magsafe, USB, and Mini-DP connectors) and want it to work with any computer with USB-C ports.
