Bracket idea is not bad though. It won't fit on the rim of a standard tank, I have a 40 gallon grow tank for shelter and sump. Okay, so it's not a deal breaker, but it does limit installation options and may be a deal breaker for some. The screws that attach the mount to whatever you end up trying to install it on are utterly useless, they won't be tight enough to attach it to anything. They just undress before getting almost tight. Given that it's a float, guess what, it works and therefore doesn't work. If you are an aquarist then you are used to rigging, I have done that but for its intended purpose it is a complete failure. I ordered it a while ago and unfortunately have been waiting until now to set it up in preparation for leaving town for the holidays. Otherwise I will return it and look for other options.
