Love it. The easiest charging system you could ever use.

Used for the automatic gravity feed system for my reef. A simple tank over the swamp is the simplest system you will ever have. Will never connect r/o directly to the system. Too many disasters. If you make your top reservoir a tenth of your system, you don't ruin the entire system even if the float valve sticks. One less electrical element in my tank. Tip: Add a dripper to the line and scale it to drip a little more than evaporates daily. Hopefully, even if it gets stuck, you'll then have aโ€ฆ

Poor performance for aquarium pumps and filters

Bracket idea is not bad though. It won't fit on the rim of a standard tank, I have a 40 gallon grow tank for shelter and sump. Okay, so it's not a deal breaker, but it does limit installation options and may be a deal breaker for some. The screws that attach the mount to whatever you end up trying to install it on are utterly useless, they won't be tight enough to attach it to anything. They just undress before getting almost tight. Given that it's a float, guess what, it works and thereforeโ€ฆ

So far so good: Fish & Aquatic Animals

I started hooking up my ATO 2 days ago. Here are some things that caught my eye. No instructions. I have obsessive-compulsive disorder and I want to know exactly what to do next. The setup in my box wasn't a picture configuration so I used the picture on the box to figure it out.2. It didn't fit on the edge of my pallet but I was able to mount it on the baffle so everything was fine.3. I use the Aqua Lifter pump to feed him.4. Once it reaches the desired level, the new water being pumped inโ€ฆ

Worked at the lower pressure of the standard R/O system.

The valve has worked perfectly with a standard reverse osmosis system. I use one in the mixing tank and one in the aquarium sump. The problem arose when I added an automatic higher pressure shut off to my reverse osmosis system. The valve is not sufficient to shut off water flow when flowing at city pressure (60 psi). It's slowly leaking out even if I keep it closed. In a couple of days I put out about 10 gallons of water in the mix tank. I removed the valve but am using the bracket withโ€ฆ

Many level controls and a small float.

Lots of height adjustments and a small float. Easy adjustment of the suspension and secure attachment to the pallet. Very well made and designed. I don't have much space in my sump, which was good since it's small. I didn't use the drain hose that came with the kit (very cheap hose). I used the Home Depot ยผ inch plastic tubing that came from my reverse osmosis filter and put teflon tape on the fitting, no leaks. This valve is mounted 2 inches above my waterline for safety. If my electric valveโ€ฆ

Good deal, but watch out.

First I want to say that I love this item. I use it as an auto topping solution and it's literally one of the only float valves sized to match the sump. . I'm glad I bought it and saved $$ compared to an expensive ATO like the Osmolator. However, a few shortcomings: The design is not the best. When installing a little"staggers". The insert where the hose enters is unreliable. The hose is not good for caulking, it takes a lot of maneuvering to stop the dripping. Mine also popped out and almostโ€ฆ

Probably the best addition to my aquarium equipment base since LED lighting

Great. After 55 years in the hobby I don't like many products. This float valve has taken my sump to a whole new level. Now I can keep the water level within 1/8 inch and only have to add water to the tank that feeds the sump every 6 weeks. I used to have to deal with topping up water every 3-4 days and was always afraid that I'd forget to fill the pan and the system would fail. In my opinion, the design and workmanship are of very high quality. It requires some technical know-how, and I'm theโ€ฆ
