This handlebar basket is a simple and functional basket that can be stored away when not in use. The sides, front and bottom fold back and are held in place with a "latch-and-hook" when the basket is not needed. Then, with spring-loaded action, all you have to do is release the latch. It opens, stays open and is ready to use. The basket itself is large enough to hold simple items you might want to take on a trip, and it fits in a 12" x 6" x 6" space (or protrudes from the top as long as needed out of here). Two things I would like to do to improve this would be to put some type of rubber or vinyl over the handlebar clamps to make them more secure and prevent the handlebars from rattling or scratching. before release in the stowed position. The latch appears to be short and not at a sufficient angle to not come loose. The last thing you want is for the basket to open while you're driving. This can be a distraction that can lead to an accident. Otherwise this basket does exactly what it's supposed to do and is great for the price. Good buy. Five stars.
