Definitely needs some feel but this thing is amazing. It's better made than I expected for the price. I needed to fix the soffit and siding on the second floor of my house and I was very glad I didn't use a hammer there. I only bought it to make some household chores easier. Since I almost never do large work projects, I didn't feel like I could justify spending a handy nail gun every few years, so this little tool is perfect for me. It also hammers in large nails very quickly. It was amazing how fast and in the beginning I actually dented my wood around the nail from going in so quickly. Also, I noticed that some other reviewers were saying about the position of the nail in relation to the magnet inside, which was very good advice. Once when I first plugged it in it just spat air but a good smack stopped it. In fact, the instructions say you should hit the back of the handle hard if the valve is stuck. The main thing I noticed is that the better you can maintain a pressure of 90-100psi, the better this tool works. When I use it with a pancake compressor hooked up to about 200 feet of air line, I can feel it as soon as the compressor is ready to go because it will loosen up with even a slight drop in pressure. All in all, I am very happy that I bought this product.
