I originally bought these for skiing as I don't wear white wireless headphones in the snow as they can easily fall out and be lost forever. It's difficult to find anything wired that meets the sound quality requirements these days as most major companies don't make anything at all. That is, of course, unless you move down to the audiophile level and top $500 very quickly. That's where these guys come in. They sound slightly better than my AirPods Pro, which I really need in terms of sound quality since I've been skiing. In addition, the frequency response had a slight V-shape. Not so heavy that it sounds obnoxious, but just enough to make them funky and more interesting than the reference headphones. The bass is pleasant, it is quite tight, very deep for headphones and encourages listening. The only problem is that it slightly overshadows the mids, making male vocals sound a bit deepened and/or muffled. It doesn't matter in any way except with very focused and comparative listening. The upper mids shine and the highs are bright enough to balance out the bass, creating an overall balanced sound for the pair of headphones. The detailing and separation of the instruments is where these things absolutely SHINE. When you listen to well-recorded and produced music in FLAC format, you can hear the character of the instruments being played. For example, Wild Cherry's "Play that funky music" has a slap bass riff that begins the song and continues through the song. As a bassist, I can clearly hear the slapping technique and bass boom that makes slapping so funky. They are fine with the tone level. It's not particularly wide, but it's not too narrow either. About what you would expect from closed-back headphones. They are very stereo and nothing happens in front or behind you. The soundproofing is as good as one would expect. ANC isn't necessary in most situations, except maybe in a noisy class or on an airplane. Comfort is a pleasure, I have small ears so comfort is always a concern. They don't irritate any part of my ear and I expect big ears to notice the same. I think I could listen to them for over 6 hours straight without feeling uncomfortable. The sound is not tiring and the fit is comfortable. In terms of the quality of the actual materials, the cable feels sleek and doesn't get tangled like the infamous Apple Ear Pods. The only thing I complain about is the corner latch. The headphones themselves are very pleasant to look at and touch. They look like they could be worth ten times their actual price. Overall I'm very happy with my purchase and think they deserve the attention of even audio snobs. You absolutely cannot beat the value of these things.
