I ordered two of these units to compare the temperature inside my RV to the outside temperature and to track the progress of my insulation project. However, prior to installation, I put them on the table next to me at my desk and they were there for at least half an hour. One of the blocks shows the current temperature is 78F and the other shows 83F. Their moisture readings are 37% and 34%. Of course, one of the devices was sent to me in a very shabby box and had obviously been used before, so that might be a factor. The one that came in a tattered box and was used, the two halves of the device fit together nice and tight, but the new one, the clip that holds the two halves together makes them wobble a bit - when the protective case is placed over the display becomes, it takes up play and stops moving. It looks like the product might be good, maybe I just got a faulty unit (or two?)?
