Review on 🚰 Culligan Premium RFC BBSA Filter for Gallon Capacity by John Rodriguez

NSF Certified Types Only and Warning

This seems like a good filter, although I was disappointed with their claim to be NSF certified. The NSF certification only covers the materials used and does not make any claims about what the filter does. My water smells better, which is why I still give it 4 stars. I'll upload photos of the front and back of the product insert if you'd like to read them. Be careful when removing the plastic wrap from the filter as there are two washers at the top and bottom which are easy to lose. The instructions also say to turn off the water, remove the filter, and then wash the filter housing with soap and water. Since the water is shut off at this point, be sure to plan on using soapy water and water to rinse the case! After installation, you need to run the water for 10 minutes, wait an hour, and then run the water for another 10 minutes. This is a good time to water the garden to avoid wasting water and using fixtures that can become clogged with carbon dust entering the system when flushing (tap, other filters in the system). home, shower heads, washing machines, refrigerator dispensers, toilets, etc. etc.).

Pros
  • Shelf Life: Replace filter every 3 months or 10,000 gallons. Water with a high sediment and solids content will shorten the life of the filter. Replacement often helps prolong the life of pipes and water-using equipment.
