I've tried many brands and styles of tray liners - screened and non-screened, drawstring and non-drawstring, HDPE and LDPE from 0.9 to 1.2 mil - and these AlfaPet screen liners are by far my favorites and have been buying for years . They are made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE), a corrugated, translucent material used in food and recyclable bags; unlike low-density polyethylene (LDPE) liners, which are white and stretchy like trash can liners. Everything I've read describes LDPE as having the best tear resistance, but I've found that if a cat's claw punctures an LDPE liner, it will snag and either rip at it, or one of the liners will pull through the dirty debris and the debris and waste seep between other screen layers. But if a cat's claw pierces one of the AlfaPet HDPE liners, it will dislodge quickly and in my experience these liners rarely prick or tear anyway. openings to cover them and prevent dirt and debris from seeping between the linings below; The chids then open and hang down as the liner is lifted, allowing debris to sift through. The holes on these AlfaPet liners are punched through, there are no hanging fumes, so I was concerned that dirt and debris wouldn't spread between each liner. But these liners are made in such a way that each sheet stays firmly attached to the sheet below, so nothing leaks between or under the liners. but shallow; 14"x11"x8" doesn't take up much space, but it's deep; and the smallest is 14" x 11" x 5". These AlfaPet liners fit perfectly, with a large overhang on the two largest drawers and a significant overhang at the smallest.LDPE liners usually take the form of a rounded pouch or envelope with two corners both of which create additional plastic pockets at each end of the shell where the filling coagulates and pools in the plastic, making scooping difficult. But these AlfaPet- Liners are flat sheets of high-density polyethylene that, when placed in a box and filled with litter, cling snugly to the walls and corners of all three sizes of our litter boxes - no more trying to dig out stuck dirt from the plastic bags in the low-density polyethylene litter liners The only part of these AlfaPet liners that I don't use is the hard sheet meant for the bottom layer that holds the chutes l lined - there is no good way to assemble and tie/close them for disposal. So when I install litter boxes, I first line each one with a drawstring LDPE liner, place five sheets of these AlfaPet liners on top, and then fill them with clumping litter. With more than five leaves, the latches on the hoods do not snap into place. We scoop daily and then sift once or twice a week. After the last screen pad is removed, the used debris is collected and disposed of by the drawstring bottom pad. As I don't use AlfaPet hardliners I have a few of these and have found them useful as waterproof doilies for craft projects - a very useful bonus!
