There are a few steps required before installation, but once installed everything looks and works great!

I have long wanted to do a mirror tint at home for privacy and protection from the heat. This shade had decent reviews so I went with it. Not sure how technologically it compares to other brands or offerings. But I've never had the chance to see a mirrored house tint in person, so the only other time I saw it was the Lowe show floor. And I think this product works better than what they offer. However, be careful before installing it. The box is wrapped very tightly around a cardboard tube and this material seems to have a lot of memory and wants to stay rolled up. It is difficult to manipulate without kinks and can be impossible to install when freshly unwound because it rolls right off the window. I think this caused the distress and downfall that others have mentioned. What I did was unwrap it from the box and (very carefully) rewrap it the other way around when it was shipped. I then left it in the sun (90 degree Texas sun) for a few hours to warm it up and brought it inside to cool down. Then put it back in the sun to warm up. When I unwound it, it still tried to roll back a bit in the direction it was sent, but at least most of it stayed flat. This made it easy to measure, cut and hang. I bought some spray liquid from Home Depot for $10 and measured and cut with scissors. glue then paint. I then carefully lifted the corner of the plastic edging around the window frame and pressed some shadow in with a squeegee and I was able to get 1/8th of the material behind that edging. It turned out great because I didn't have to cut precisely. More importantly, if the material tries to bend/curl it needs to be held in place by the window frame material. After applying and drying I was very satisfied with the mirror effect. It really has a noticeable impact on how you look throughout the day. Of course you can also see at night (when the room is brighter than outside). It's tinted, but it's still better than nothing.
