Review on πŸ”Š Kenwood KSC-PSW8: Powerful 8" Under Seat Subwoofer with Remote Control by Dennis Chase

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Better than SW-11 but maybe a little deeper in the bass

I originally bought the KSC-SW11 which is smaller and has less power. I wasn't happy with it so I went back and got this one. This model definitely has more power and the bass is more pronounced. It filled the lower music spectrum well without overwhelming the rest of your system. However, the reproduced bass is still a bit muddy even when I set the crossover to 50Hz, or maybe I'm asking too much. The case is solidly built with a durable speaker grille that won't deform, even with moderate pressure from above. Overall a great low profile subwoofer that is easy to install. Although the maximum output is stated to be 250W, in most cases it's closer to 75-100W RMS. And you can tell by the 10A fuse on the included wiring harness that this thing isn't all that powerful. I just plugged the power cord into the fuse box, it never blew a fuse or caused any problems as I couldn't find the rubber grommet around the gas pedal and I don't want to risk drilling a hole in the firewall. While I know this isn't the right way to hook up a subwoofer, at least it works for me as a casual listener.
