Review on IXS Unisex Flow EVO+ Breathable Moisture-Elbow Guard, Dirt Bike & Mountain Bike Protective Gear Pads, Elbow Sleeve with Wicking Padding (Grey, XL) by Tony Suggs

I bought these pads a few years ago after a gravel accident which left me with a pretty bad rash. Size L. Too bad I didn't buy XL as mine are pretty tight on the shoulder. Yesterday I had an accident with them for the first time (slipping on loose gravel). I had a pretty good road rash where the pad was supposed to protect me. While the pad itself appears to have decent forearm coverage, it was completely ineffective, at least in my case. I have included photos to show the damage versus the expected protection. Apparently the airbag went up in the accident. I think the problem is that the gravel/dirt grabs the pad and it pushes up the arm exposing the skin. Long story short I bought these pads to prevent this particular type of injury and they have failed me. They get 2 stars because at least my elbow was clean and unharmed.
