A few days ago I installed a VisionTek 4-port USB Express expansion card and it's been working fine so far. The item was relatively easy to assemble. The Molex to SATA power adapter cable is included with the card and connects to the computer's power supply. (Luckily my power supply had the necessary plug-ins to connect the cable). I don't know why but all my original USB ports stopped working and with this new card I was able to add 4 new USB ports. Now I can connect devices like a printer and webcam to the USB ports. I saved $150 or more by being able to install this expansion card myself. It was a great workaround; Otherwise I would have to take my computer to the expensive GEEK Squad for repairs or the other option would be to buy a new computer.
