Discoloration: Home Decor Products

5/7/20 I bought three of these curtains so thought I'd share my experience. ------ - ADVANTAGES-EFFICIENCY: Curtains block MOST of the light. For those who want to use this curtain to darken the room so the kids can sleep but don't mind letting in a little light, this curtain will do. EASY TO INSTALL: There are suction cups on the edges. VALUE: They're decent in a pinch and good for travel. -------- CONS: PERFORMANCE: Material is thick but not as thick as my cheapest blackout curtains. If you want to make the room pitch black in the middle of the day, you need to layer them. EASY INSTALLATION: The suction cups are placed too far on the edge of the curtain. The suction cups don't account for the light coming from all sides of these edges. More material on the edges (just enough to bend over) would help block that edge lighting significantly. The suction cups are also weak/thin. Eventually the sun bakes them to the point where they become ineffective. DURABILITY: After a few months of frequent use, the color fades greatly from the sun. Too bad I didn't get WHITE because my black curtains aren't black anymore. (See Photo) -------------------- GENERAL CONCLUSION: I regret buying three of these curtains. One of those curtains would be fine. I have used the curtain when traveling, in that sense it has been very useful to me. At the same time, there were always occasions when I forgot to pack the curtain. I didn't miss it. However, the curtain is not a "must". I understand buying three of them was reckless as discoloration is inevitable. If I had known they would fade I would have refused to buy them.
