I use my fan 24/7, all year round - from winter to summer. I have birds and the filter catches dander. It needs a light cleaning once a month to keep it working. This is my third. My second lasted from 2014 until the bearings started to squeak at times, which is getting annoying. This is the only fan with a quality grille and a removable filter. They removed the "on" indicator, which was a nice feature because when there's a power surge, the fan doesn't automatically restart.
