My motherboard has 2 M.2 slots (one for PCI Express, one for SATA 3) when installed in the correct slot (SATA3). There were no problems installing my operating system and files, although everything is fast I don't see any disadvantages. For the price it does it's great quality, just want to warn that SATA 3 is allowed. At the beginning of the install I just plugged it into the PCI slot and although MB recognized it, it did Installation on it not allowed. I would recommend
