I was looking for winter tires for a new car in the original size 255/55/17. Usually I go to Nokian Hakkapeliita - I'm 100% satisfied. There were 5, and 7, and 8. I tried Michelin x-ice north xin2 tires - I didn’t like them because of the noise. The price tag for Hakkapellita 9 in my size turned out to be too big (more than 11 thousand). After reading reviews and articles, I settled on Hankook Tire Winter i * Pike RS2 W429 255/50 R17 - 7280. I started using it at the end of October, i. E. today almost 4 months in different modes (40% city, 60% highway). Balancing went well. Almost new factory casting was hung on 15-20 grams. The run-in was carried out as expected, 600 km without stress for rubber - acceleration and braking are smooth, speeds up to 100, I did not ride on rails. Not so much to be thrilled with the tires. Hakkapeliita is better in many ways in terms of handling. Yes, Hankook is not bad for its price, for such a price it is worth it. Auto Mondeo 5, D class - heavy and wide. In general, the tires hold the road well, and the width of 235 allows you to do better. There are drifts on under-rolled snow, correction systems are turned on. Good on ice, not great. On water, porridge is good, I did not experience any problems, hydroplaning was not noticed. Asphalt braking is good, not great. On uncleaned roads, they start with a strong slip. Today, a car on R18 left me without slipping, and my anti-bux chirped. That is, on this rubber I’m not driving completely relaxed, as it happened in Hakkapeliit, but also without convulsively grabbing the steering wheel. And I drive fast and sometimes extreme (on the highway 140-150, constantly overtaking), so it is extremely important to feel the reliability of the tires. For those who drive 100-110 on the highway, I think that the rubber is ideal in terms of price / quality. I rate 8 out of 10. I didn’t have enough information before buying, there were only 2 reviews in and about nothing, like I just bought it, let’s see how it will be in winter.
