Review on Aisin WPT 111 Engine Water Pump by Jonathan Sriubas

Replaced the Aisin pump in my 2006 Prius with this Aisin WPT-111 today. I took the Prius to Toyota for a steering shaft recall and they told me my pump was leaking (Toyota Long Life coolant [which you should be using!] forms a crust when it leaks leaving nothing under the car) and they charged me $350. fix it. I decided I had two free hours and did it myself. Very easy job, just don't forget to put the car in "trouble mode" when you bleed the system. The pump and gasket appear to be of excellent quality. The only thing that bothered me was that it was made in the USA and not in Japan like the Aisin pump I removed. It's still better here than in China, India or anywhere else. There are some half price, but you pay for what you get. And don't forget Genuine Toyota Long Life Coolant.
