I'm half Hispanic and a mix of European and American. My hair is mostly black, loose curls, I keep it short and slicked to one side. I have fairly ethnic "horse hair" as my mother likes to call it, and I grew up wearing hair gels. Most store-bought gels leave hair flaky and don't last long. However, this American Crew formula is flake-free and you can even wet it and discard it. This is the only hair product brand I will buy as their lipsticks, fibers and hair creams make me feel like a supermodel. I will never buy any other hair product again. I've tried quite a few vegan things in the past and I hope one day American Crew will be able to offer cruelty-free vegan versions of their products. But now I have about 10 different products in my hairstyling repertoire and each of their products is specifically designed for the look I want. READ LABELS. Your product efficacy descriptions are accurate and I can wear your products all day and my hair looks EVEN better at the end of the day! Somehow they managed to make everything smell really good! However, I will not use any other products - and when I do (in cases where I forgot them at home) I always regret it.
