no battery cover. I thought it was just a photo showing where the batteries died. I've had 4 of these cameras and this is a brand new product that came from scratch with no battery cover so it's not waterproof enough. The 2 tiny lenses on the front go inwards and are a water and gloomy waterfall trap. And when I first put batteries in, the camera felt very hot and the batteries burned me out and then shorted out. regular AA Duracell, no lithium and non-rechargeable. and it gets worse. The place where you attach the tripod is on the front of the camera and must be removed from the tripod. It then removes the tripod mount to extract the memory card and then puts everything back together to put it back on the tripod. all others open from the front on a tripod - I pull out the USB stick, put the batteries in it and close it; Don't buy a very bad design - this design wasn't thought of - I don't understand how it got into production.
