Reading the reviews on this product, I think I've experienced all the joys and failures that most people mention when I tried to connect my new Sony DVD player with no HDMI ports (?!). connect a 4 year old Samsung. TV. It didn't work at first - all I got was a lot of buzzing with a blue screen that said 'No Signal'. Some users have recommended trying a different HDMI cable. I've had this problem before with my laptop; Apparently only a good quality HDMI cable transfers the data correctly when I connect my laptop to the TV. (I tend to find that thinner cables don't work for everything.) On this device, that didn't solve the problem. I left it for a while; Some people said that waiting 5 minutes seemed to give it a chance to work. Fifteen minutes later, no joy. I noticed that the red, white, and yellow AV cables that came with the DVD player were pretty flimsy, so I rummaged through my cable box for a higher quality kit with thicker individual cables. Didn't you know it works? If you buy this product and hope it works, I recommend investing in good, quality HDMI and AV cables. Otherwise, you might just end up with an exercise in frustration. Much luck!
