Review on DeLonghi EC5 Steam Driven Espresso Coffee by Gene Taylor

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good car but should be higher

I bought this car because it was reasonably priced and had good reviews. It makes a good espresso, haven't tried it for a cappucino yet and I haven't been able to boil the milk for my latte yet because when I get my cup out and pour in the milk the machine is ready but we're working on it again. My main gripe is that when plugged in, the espresso spout is too big for a regular cup to fit in. Yes, I could just buy a set of small espresso cups, but when I'm making a latte I need a larger cup, especially if I'm making doubles (or 4 servings on the day I need more). and these cups cannot fit under the sink without knocking over the cup. If you knock the cup over, you have to knock it over to get it back out, and then the espresso will spill. glass, I would let my toddler play coffee maker with this) and all you have to do is push the button on the side. The machine runs quickly and quietly and is easy to clean thanks to the removable bowl. I just need an adjustable spout and that would be perfect.

Pros
  • Easy controls with switch and indicator light
Cons
  • So-so
