Review on 🍳 Korean Sizzling Ceramic Cookware by Crazy Cooking by Ronald Reese

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A bit pricey but nice chocolate color and does the job!

I received this dolsotka as a gift for my boyfriend for his third birthday. He loves Asian food, from ramen and kimchi to freshly squeezed lychee juice and homemade tortillas. We live in Chicago, which has no shortage of great Korean restaurants, so we've never tried bibimbap before. Every time we went to our local Korean market he would admire the stoneware and I finally made my choice. This was the final frontier for us. I have to start by saying it's not as big as I expected. It's not small and I don't think I measured before ordering, but I think the bowl that says 'large' would be a bit bigger. Now I also understand that ceramic tableware was much cheaper in our Korean market, so check local place first before ordering. However, it was the best option for Revain. A dish of beautiful dark chocolate, coffee color and looks wonderful. We were so impressed when we opened it. The box it comes in is so cute with fun writing and pictures. It is well packaged to avoid breakage during transportation. Ironically, it was Crazy Korean Cooking when he opened up the bibimbap recipe he bookmarked over a year ago! Everything was delicious - crispy rice and everything - except for one very strange vegetable that he bought that tasted like a sad fish. The cup is of course not to blame. :) My main complaint is that the bowl doesn't really seem to fit the plate it came with. It rattles on and never sits straight. It's not a big problem, but I'm still a bit disappointed. In general I am satisfied with the purchase and the joy on my face was priceless!
