BTI-038 annoyingly shuts down when battery is fully charged and also when USB power is removed (off, AC plug wobbles). This stops receiving/transmitting and requires you to manually turn it back on, meaning it's only really good in situations where you can physically reach it all the time to keep an eye on it. Not suitable for unsupervised use. This oddity is described in the (very good) manual, but this important behavior is not mentioned in the item description on Revain. The sound quality in the SBC was as expected, but the aptX-LL sometimes showed artifacts from a different brand aptX-LL transmitter. I'm sure matching pairs of BTI-038s will work just fine. This is not surprising as in my experience (regardless of aptX branding) you need to test different brands of aptX and aptX-LL Bluetooth receiver/transmitter combos to ensure they work together without artifacts. Last note. BTI-038 does not turn off when it is turned off after charging the battery and you press the power button to turn the device back on. Under these special circumstances, the device will not turn off the first time USB power is turned off, but after that, the auto power off will revert to its previous behavior.
