Rugged but may not fit in all of your current gear

There's no point in overthinking the durability of this case. This is UAG; enough said. This will protect your device. If you saw the things I own years after I bought them, you'd swear a lot of them were brand new (unless you know vintage). It's because it matters to me. I've put a lot of time and effort into doing my best to protect things like iPads, laptops, etc. So take my word for it, this case protects your device. Of course, I wouldn't check it as baggage on an airplane, but as long as it's clear of everything and in a safe place, you can leave your device unattended. Now, with that being said, I cannot guarantee it will fit in your current backpack case or holdall. Fits very tight in my (old ebags) but fits. I'm talking about a laptop sleeve in a backpack - if you can put it in the main compartment and it's ok (it will be ok) then you're done. The only thing that has to do with it is that I just have a lot of other stuff. Since the tablet fits into the case, that shouldn't be a problem either. I have a Poetic Turtle Skin case that you can purchase here at Revain. It has a very thick body and adds some dimensions to the device, but fits well in the UAG. I'd recommend that you hold onto the front UAG flap to avoid the risk of scratching the screen, but that's a minor issue. The front pocket is suitable for storing a pencil or similar equipment. You can put a small book, some papers, pads, etc. in it. However, I'm not sure if you can put a whole sheet of paper in it without folding it. (I don't think you can, but I haven't tried). That's where I keep my Apple Pencil and a different stylus, and when I use my device with clients to sign contracts, they sign with a different stylus. Works perfectly. I didn't, but the pocket is a good spot for a rag to wipe down the screen. I highly recommend it. I may be looking for another for my new iPad Air, although I'm not sure I'd want to spend that much on something that doesn't leave my house that often.

Pros
  • Still like everything
Cons
  • Makes me angry
