I have purchased several of these compression pants: several pairs of black, black and red, blue camo and green camo. I've had almost all of the pairs for about a year, except for two that I recently bought. I wear them every day, whether I'm exercising or not, because I ride my motorcycle and I like having a second layer of "skin" between me and my jeans. They also protect against wind in winter. As a base layer, I can tell you that they help against the cold in winter. I'd say they might not help as much as cold weather compression pants, but it's a lot better than none, I can assure you. Compression pants engineered to train, wick moisture and stay cool, these pants won't let you down. I live in Arizona where there is an average of over 100 degrees per month 5 months out of the year. June and July are worst; some days the heat is 115-120 degrees. Wearing these compression pants in the heat will feel like you're jogging/exercising without pants at all (weird to say but true). None of them have a boring look. One of them has a small hole on the side of the pants, probably due to my mishandling, but other than that they are all in the same condition as when I first received them. They have held up to the wear and tear of everyday use and I wash all pairs at the end of the week so I'm very happy with this product, especially considering the price is more than reasonable for the quality and durability. they lasted four times longer than I expected. When it comes to style, every pair of these compression shorts looks stylish. I even bought a couple of matching tops because I couldn't do without a matching set for some colors. Some things to consider. I felt these sizes were a bit smaller than I would normally expect from tag sizing. Although I was able to wear them just fine, ordering one size up seemed to solve the problem. Again, it doesn't get in the way, but I don't want them to be so snug on my legs that it would be uncomfortable to exercise. If you wash some of these, if the seams are cotton, try not to mix them with anything that might leave those little lints on them. I made the mistake of accidentally washing my towel in the underwear my compression pants were on and spent most of the day trying to pull that lint out of the seams of my compression pants.
