If you find this review helpful, please click below. The light works great. Not the brightest LEDs, but they're good. The board works great. The length is absolutely amazing. I can walk around the house and not need tons of extension cords and figure out where the connections end/begin. Now. The IP44 certification should not be advertised at all. IP44 means the light can be used in the BATHROOM with vapour/humidity. This means NOTHING related to outdoor use. In fact, if you read the entire description they advertise it states several times that it is NOT for rain. I don't know about you, but why do you need streetlights that cannot be used when it rains? In any case, the fairy lights are definitely waterproof. The control box and connector are ABSOLUTELY NOT waterproof. Here's what I recommend to be able to use them outdoors. Take some clear silicone and run your finger over all the seams on both the control box and the connector box and seal the seams. Then place the control box and connect the sandwich plastic bag with the extension cord attached. Wrap the end of the sandwich bag tightly around the extension cord and wire strand and tie. This prevents most water from getting in and works outdoors in the rain. One thing to remember, make sure the wires are DOWN. When they're up, water runs straight down the wire into trouble. Make sure the control box/bag is OFF THE FLOOR if possible. Finally, NO MEMORY if using a timer or sunrise/sunset switch. So you have to reset the mode you want every time you turn them on. Much luck!
