If you're looking for a voice recorder that starts recording when you say (press the record button) then this isn't it. This recorder takes 10 seconds each time to start recording. This Garmay recorder works, it has decent sound even with 3 quality bands of 32Mbps, 64Mbps or 128Mbps. I couldn't find a voice activation setting that suits my needs. This recorder's buttons feel like a cheap toy and are extra loud when recording, but this unit's body is nice and heavy. They really should have put some kind of silicone/rubber cushioning material between the button and the tactile switch. It picks up sounds very well throughout the room. If you were to set up this device and only leave it for a few hours, say for class notes, this would work great for you.
