Review on 🚴 Kuppe Stainless Steel Cycling Sports Water Bottle - Vacuum Insulated with Straw and Sip Lid by Rick Rownd

Received my street coupe today and was happy to try it on the bottle cage (fluorescent aluminum rail). It fits perfectly. Unfortunately, the dark gray finish of the bottle also began to scratch when it came into contact with the bottle holder when it was inserted and removed. The texture hides this cosmetically (to an extent), but the scratched areas also look like sandpaper, so I don't see the texture as a plus. This is a very disappointing performance for an item that was literally designed for this specific purpose. My hydroflask has a lot of chips on the powdercoating, mostly on the bottom edges, but they've built up over the years and they don't feel that rough either. More Details: The Travel dome's straw cap feels the same as the wide-mouth straw cap on my favorite 18-ounce hydroflask (pictured together). Durable, easy to drink, waterproof when closed, same hand position, same open/close mechanism. And indeed, the covers are interchangeable! This is great as there are plenty of regular hydroflask straw caps available should you end up needing a spare cap. (My hydroaccumulator bottle tends to get chewed up over time, I seem to replace it about once a year.) In closing, I love the concept of this bottle and the base is well executed (size, shape, function ). but the coating/finish leaves a lot to be desired. There aren't any other competitors in this niche, so I might try a different bottle cage (perhaps a plastic one?) first and see if it holds the finish better. UPDATE: I have switched to a side loading plastic bottle cage. Haven't scratched the surface in a month of use. It also made it a lot easier to load and unload that large bottle while driving. I added a star to my rating because this combo works really well!
