I like this blank journal. It's got really good, thick paper. I don't use fountain pens, but it takes a gel pen with no problem. It's sturdy enough, and having the pen holder on the spine is a nice touch. It holds a Dr Grip pen as long as you push it in from the bottom. Otherwise the grip part gets stuck on the elastic. It also holds regular size pens with ease, although I bet after the Dr Grip has been in there a bit it'll stretch.This book has everything I look for. It's got a pen holder, a back pocket, a ribbon bookmark, and an elastic band to hold the pages closed if you carry it around in a bag. The pages are thick and sturdy. It opens flat. The spine is sewn instead of just glued. I recommend this journal for people who want something understated and functional.
