Review on πŸ•―οΈ UCO Original Candle Lantern Kit Powder Coat: Illuminate Your Outdoor Adventures with Style and Convenience! by Nale Dunn

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Weak and poorly thought out.

First, as far as the three categories that Revain includes in this lantern review, everything is fine. Brightness, light, easy to use. If only that was all. Unfortunately, while the outer casing is solid enough despite the glass shutter, the guts of this thing suck. The three-bar system used to hold the clasp in place is little stronger than aluminum foil. You won't realize it until you need to clean the lantern, and then your problems will come into focus. Actually, let me backtrack a bit and talk about the design flaw that really causes or exacerbates all the other problems. The melting candle wax should only go between the candle sleeve and the candle. This creates a problem with the wax melting everything together. There should have been some sort of reservoir for melted wax, but there isn't. The spark plug sleeve is supported by a single, extremely weak spring. I guarantee this thing will eventually come loose and never be safe after that, meaning that instead of rising when your candle burns, it will simply float in place. Combined with the wax, then fusing the shell to the candle and pressing the clasp, good luck removing it all safely and sanely. as already mentioned, slightly stronger than a sheet of aluminum foil. After taking apart the lantern to try and clean the wax (which you 100% need to do), good luck with the sticks holding their shape. They WILL flex, and once they do your shutter will be effectively useless as it is these rods that allow you to raise or lower the jar without opening it every time (whatever the fate of those lantern will be). Because the wands lack real strength, you're basically left with no working flashlight in this case, and combined with the spring issue, you're better off just using the candles alone in the end. barely fits the spark plug and doesn't fit the hanging chain or reflector at all (you can push the chain and hanging bar in, but they won't sit securely flush). The candles themselves aren't bad though, lol. A full review of the materials used in production is awaited, and the inclusion of melted wax somewhere, I definitely wouldn't spend your money on that. I'm really upset about what I did.

Cons
