Review on Sceptre U278W 4000R 4K DisplayPort Monitor with Built-In Speakers and IPS Technology by Alecjandro Skeen

First let me say that I don't usually write reviews but felt compelled to write this one because I bought this monitor almost a year ago and now half the pixels are not working, yes that's easy!. My first monitor. Came with a few dead pixels so I returned it and got another one. The second one only had one dead pixel (barely noticeable) so I left it. First impressions were fine, image quality was functional (not much to expect from a $270 4k monitor) and build quality was decent. On the other hand, the connectivity prompted me to upgrade to a newer graphics card as there were some HDMI issues (fixed with the newer card). At that moment everything was fine, since the monitor was performing its functions. After 6 months things started to look strange, the very edges of the screen got a bit darker with a purple tint, but again this didn't really affect the picture as it was only the very corners. I ignored the problem and kept using it until half the pixels died a few days ago. Essentially my screen looks like it has scan lines (from old CRTs) and the 4k resolution is unusable (very awkward to read at that resolution if you skip half the horizontal lines). I lost the manual box several times. months ago moving, so now I'm stuck with a very dark and totally blurry (due to missing horizontal lines) 1080 image, which is ridiculous. Also, this is my main monitor for 2 computers which makes it worse. If you have money, buy something better. You'll be happier, won't have to deal with dead pixels (which are reported in every single review), and still have a working product a year later. Update: I have to give customer service 5 stars. They responded quickly, sent a box to ship the non-working monitor and resolved the issue within 2 days of receiving the monitor.
