When I used this to clean my hairbrush, I stopped from time to time to brush the hair/lint off the Denman brush cleaner. This helped prevent hair/lint from building up on it. After cleaning my hairbrush, I washed the Denman with warm water and then used a hair clip to finish cleaning it. This worked for me and I hope it helps others. *
