Review on Grit Guard Insert Red Diameter by Khiam Burton

Dimensions and useful guide to buying a bucket oh yeah I like Grit Guard too

Okay I usually hate reviews that say "haven't used it yet” but that's exactly what I do. I have no doubt that it will not remove sand, dirt or other contaminants from my wash mitt and keep them off my car trim. So I'm going to tell you about measurements that I've read about and asked myself a lot of questions about. As you can see from my photos and the measurements in the description, the Grit Guard measures 10 3/8 inches. It is also stated to fit in any standard 5 gallon 12 inch bucket. So I went to Lowes and got a standard 5 gallon blue bucket. I took this bucket to the tool area and measured the top and bottom inside diameters. The top of the bucket was just under 12 inches and the bottom inside diameter was 10 inches. Well I didn't have high expectations for these sizes but I bought the bucket anyway with the thought that I would have to send it back. Well it turned out perfect. The bottom posts taper slightly to about 10 inches, allowing the Grit Guard to sit flush with the bottom of the bucket as intended. I'm very happy with how things have turned out. Car wash duties, I say do it. As for the bucket you plan to put it in, take it to the tool aisle or grab your own tape measure and take a few quick measurements. If the bottom is at least 10 inches in diameter, you're good to go. My 5 gallon bucket was purchased at Lowes 2/2016. Good luck everyone, I hope it helps.
