Ideal for 5 liter buckets!

YES! They are suitable for 5 gallons. Buckets from Home Depot, Lowes, Ace Hardware etc. Large. There is a gap at the bottom that allows water to circulate. When you push the insert down, the gap is only about 1/2 inch in the center and about 2-1/4 inches on the sides. I bought 3 of these to give away for Christmas and I will probably buy a few more. I haven't used one to wash my car yet, but I'm sure it will serve you very well. I got my brother one for Christmas - hand washing his trucks is…

Pros
  • Outstanding design

A must if you hand wash your car!

Before I got my own car (=bought it myself), I drove a red '07 Accord that my aunt had given me. Neither of you and I knew that turbulence on cars could be avoided. She doesn't mind that too much though - she just wants the machine to work perfectly, with no mechanical issues. I, on the other hand, noticed these vortices but didn't know how to take care of them and leave them alone. 7 years later, graduated from college, found a job and bought a car. As a first-time buyer I wanted to make sure…

"Dirty Guard "? Sure, but it's so limiting.

The only downside of this product is that the supports under the grille are solid, not arched and reinforced (due to the creation of a T-shape at the bottom that is thicker than the main wall). This would allow for more weight to be carried and multiple "shields" to be stacked, e.g. when dipping parts (phosphate coated steel) or even when drying perishable items (e.g. dried fruits or herbs/plants). . This product offers so much more benefit in so many different uses it's almost overwhelming…

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Requires base

A good addition to auto detailing kits.

After watching many YouTube videos and learning how to wash cars with the two bucket system, I bought two of these wash and rinse buckets. The theory behind this is that dirt settles under the guard so you don't rub dirt into the paint causing scratches. They seem to be doing their job as advertised. They are well made and are now part of my washing routine. The reason they didn't get five stars is due to two minor issues. First, they cost about $8-9 each, and since they're just a plastic mold,

Will not fit in a 5 gallon bucket at Home Depot, Lowes, Sears and Walmart.

I'm not sure why some people who just reviewed said it fits in 5 gallon buckets at Home Depot and Lowes. I've brought safety to both places and couldn't be more disappointed. None of them fit as can be seen in the attached photos. The protective cover could be installed almost to the bottom, about 3/4 inch from the bottom. For a blue Lowes bucket, it can drop about 2-3 inches off the bottom. However, the guard couldn't touch the ground, none of them. For people who saw this years ago, maybe HD…

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • No automatic

Dimensions and useful guide to buying a bucket oh yeah I like Grit Guard too

Okay I usually hate reviews that say "haven't used it yet” but that's exactly what I do. I have no doubt that it will not remove sand, dirt or other contaminants from my wash mitt and keep them off my car trim. So I'm going to tell you about measurements that I've read about and asked myself a lot of questions about. As you can see from my photos and the measurements in the description, the Grit Guard measures 10 3/8 inches. It is also stated to fit in any standard 5 gallon 12 inch bucket. So I

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
