Review on LG 32UL500-W Display - FreeSync Compatible 31.5" 4K UHD, Wall Mountable, 32UL500W, HD by Robert Hayes

The minimum brightness is still significantly brighter than my iPhone 7 Plus's lowest brightness and brighter than my laptop's screen at its lowest brightness. I bought this monitor because a VA panel has a higher contrast than an IPS panel at a similar brightness. I don't like bright screens and find them extra strain on my eyes. There is a software solution for this, but it would be nice if this extra step was not required. (Software called Dimmer) Otherwise this is a great giant monitor and costs around $300.
