Review on πŸ’‘ 5500K Full Spectrum Hydroponic Light by Jason Jirsa

This lightbulb is the bomb!

These lamps allow you to grow whatever you want indoors. They emit very little heat, have a good light spectrum (5500K) and consume very little power. The advantage is that they fit in normal lamp holders. Remember they are about 9 inches long. You can use these bulbs in both the vegetative growth phase of your plant and in the flowering phase. In an ideal world, you should turn off the 5500K bulbs when your plants start to flower, with a 26W, 2700K CFL Compact Fluorescent grow light that plugs into a standard SunBlaster Grow Lights outlet. As you can see, anything can go up in price. You can use any bulb throughout the life of the plant, from roots to harvest, but if you only have the money for one variety of bulb, use it. I didn't notice any difference in swapping out the bulbs during the flowering phase. You can also mix and match so that half the bulbs are 5500K and the other half are 2700K. This ensures that your plants receive the full spectrum of sunlight. I have used these bulbs for all stages of "vegetable" growing and they work exactly as promised. In addition, the price is unbeatable. Keep them 4-8 inches from the tops of your plants to prevent leaf burning. Here are some tips: * Hold the top of your hand under the light (after the bulb has warmed up) where it will be flush with the top leaf of your plant. If it gets too hot, the plant will be too close to the plants.* Purchase a Woods 0162 18/2 gauge SPT-2 squeeze light with a 10 inch reflector, 6' 150 watt cord to screw in the bulb and to reflect them back. all bars down. This clip is great for aiming the lamp in different directions and has a large reflector. -Watt Twin Light-Socket Adapter, Ivory, if there aren't enough outlets/space. If you have a socket adapter (2 or 4) you will need a white Leviton R52-01403-00W 15Amp Residential Medium Socket Socket Adapter so you can screw it into the clamp light. The socket extender gives you the extra length you need with the socket splitter. * The rule of thumb is to use 50 watts per square foot of grow space, so a 3x3 foot grow space would be 9 square feet. Each bulb emits a 250 watt incandescent (and 60 watt amazing CFL grow light) so you need 7-8 bulbs. Keep in mind that the grow space is not the size of your grow space. For example, if you have 9 square feet of your basement fenced off for growing plants, you will need about 8 of them. * If you're bad at math, just use one lightbulb per plant. That might seem like a lot at first, but as your plants grow taller, this 9 inch bulb may not seem that big compared to your 3 foot plant! the moisture your plants provide through evaporation during the winter season. If you live in an apartment and don't have access to an outdoor growing area and it's summer, you should take that into account when choosing your light source. These lamps emit hardly any heat and consume little electricity. They are an excellent purchase and highly recommended.
