This looks like quality construction and is fine if you need to replace your existing outdoor socket cover. One caveat I'm going to share here probably doesn't apply to 95% of you. I didn't pay attention to the brand of my previous cap and when I fitted this I found that it would not work in this particular spot due to the larger spring cap. My previous brand was Red Dot as you can see in this Revain link: Thomas & Betts CS315 Red Dot Single Gang GFCI Outlet Kit, Silver. Where I installed it the deck skin had been cut around the outlet and the design of this cover was too large for the shield to open. Again, I know my situation is unique and doesn't apply to most. It worked as I was able to swap out another one of my Red Dot covers and use that replacement elsewhere that didn't have the same deck surface limitations. Otherwise it is exactly what I thought it would be and should last for years. I bought it in August 2014 and paid $4.31. As of March 2015, the price for the same item is up to $10.17. It's hard to imagine what could cause the price to more than double in seven months.
