I have mixed feelings about this and even considered returning it. I will tell you about the book, rings, tongs and values separately. THE BOOK The content of the book is good. You can find all the fabrics online, but having them all in one place is really nice, especially to start with. However, the binder was set incorrectly for me. Pages began to fall out. I had to spend an hour fixing the binding. RINGSI has never worked with jump rings. So I didn't know which material to choose. Stainless steel seemed the obvious choice for durability and health. However, stainless steel is slightly more expensive. It is also darker than silver. Aluminum looks more like silver, however, oxidizes. The alloy in these rings should not oxidize or turn your skin black. I washed the rings with soap and water and dried them. My finders are still dark after weaving a few inches of chain, but these appear to be metal shavings from manipulating the rings with pliers. The chain smells like regular raw aluminum but I haven't noticed any issues after wearing these rings for 24 hours. They are very bright compared to stainless steel, perhaps a cross between stainless steel and silver. PLIERS These are very cheap pliers, one of the cheapest. They often slip off the rings, leaving scratches and stains on the rings. But they are enough. I assume pliers can work much better. Pliers with plastic or softer jaws prevent ring damage. VALUEI thought about returning it. I will update the pliers. And the book alone costs less than $20. But having all these rings in different sizes is very handy for practicing and deciding which rings I like for different weaves and uses. Buying and buying all these different sizes will take time and cost a lot of money. CONCLUSION I recommend this for those who are just starting out. If you don't know what ring sizes you need or want to experiment with different sizes, this will work. This will save you a lot of time and money for it. If you know exactly what ring sizes you need, it might be better to buy them together with a good pair of pliers.
