Review on Suruid Lightweight Aluminum Bicycle Water Bottle Holder - Ideal for Road and Mountain Bikes by Robert Prix

Holds the bottle tight but scratches

So I've been using this bottle cage on my bike for a little over a month and so far so good. Installation was very easy, just screwed it into place. It took every 5 seconds. Now I know that many owners have problems with bottles falling out, but not once in a month of driving has a bottle fallen out or even fallen out. I'm not an avid marathon runner. It's about an hour with my wife and son nearby. So who knows how it works when you come down from the mountains and hunt lions with it. But for city driving it is perfect. Warning that it might scratch your bottles: I intentionally left the metal handles as wide as they came as they held my bottle tight. I also purposely use a cheap $1 plastic bottle because it scratches up pretty well. I tested if it would hold up in a 24 ounce stainless steel bottle I had. Holds, but scratches quickly. Because my big concern was to keep to the bottle time; I now use a 17 ounce plastic bottle which is perfect for this. Since it's a cheap $1 bottle, I don't care if it gets scratched, I'm more worried about it falling out. And it's not. That's why I didn't try to extend the arms or anything. So it deserves my 5 stars. Be careful it will scratch.
