good idea, bad product

I've tried everything I can think of to make this work. I've tried this on 2 dedicated computers, each over 2Ghz and lots of high speed drives, and it never works twice in a row. The weirdest thing is that when used on a system it gets even worse. Then I switch it to another system and it works for a day or so. I've reset everything, reinstalled all cables, swapped cables etc etc. I've tried 3 different USB drivers and each one fails in it's own way. One machine just hangs, the other stops writing output to disk (but keeps the timing so you don't know when it stopped capturing). Forget pausing one recording and starting another without restarting. There seems to be multiple threads running and you have to be very careful when clicking on anything or it will freeze. You can't even reboot without a reset switch, as you often can't exit a program without the machine freezing on reboot. , on my 3rd computer with video redo and other utilities. Even that won't work. The only reason I've gotten this far is that I really need a USB connection as my video out is too far away and I can't run my audio cables without annoying noise. If punishment is your thing, get this position.

Pros
  • Built-in analog video outputs for outputting edited video back to a VCR or TV
Cons
  • No
