Review on Ortofon Red MM Cartridge by Tony Stennis

I bought this cartridge together with an Ortofon SH-4 head to replace my old Grado 2Z+ (20 years - not constant use). I recently rekindled my love for vinyl and decided to get out my Techniques 1200 MKII turntable and start playing my old and new vinyl. The grado was ok but I got a lot of distortion. Crackling at high frequencies, mostly. Once I set up Ortofon, WOW. the beautiful warm sounds were just crystal clear. This cartridge is perfect for me. It should be noted that it is much easier to install than my Grado. The Orotfon has threaded screw holes on the top so you don't have to try and screw tiny nuts on the underside of the head case mounting screws. Replacing the stylus is also easy. just plug and play (when the time comes). Very happy with my purchase!
